A German study found that taking Pycnogenol produced younger-looking skin with fewer wrinkles. This was especially true in women who initially had dry skin.

But that’s not all they measured. They also took small skin biopsies to assess gene expression of HAS-1, COL1A1, and COL1A2. The Pycnogenol elevated COL1A1 by 29% and COL1A2 by 41%. It also increased hyaluronic acid production in skin by 44%.
The nutrient also enhanced skin elasticity by 25%. But the biggest improvements were in women with dry skin. Their hydration improved by 21%, compared to 8% in those with more normal skin. The Pycnogenol also reduced skin wrinkles by 3% and increased skin smoothness by 6%.
It’s not often you find results like this from an oral supplement. They truly are remarkable. Pycnogenol is a very powerful nutrient; one you should include in your daily supplement regimen. But it’s not all you should do for your skin.
Remember, your skin is your first line of defense against many health problems. It’s your largest organ and it works hard to keep you healthy.
