There's good news for consumers and the environment. Wal-Mart has decided to double its number of organic food items, bringing the total they sell to 400 items. This will have tremendous implications on the entire organics market – and on your health.
Wal-Mart has more than 6,000 stores worldwide. Now retail grocery stores will contract with more farmers around the globe to grow organic fruits, vegetables, herbs, teas, coffee, and spices to meet demands that are exploding.
Wal-Mart not only influences what people can buy at its stores, but it affects the choices of products sold in other mainstream competitors, such as Target and supermarket chains, as well as in health food stores. So don't be surprised to see more organic products in your favorite stores.
This recent decision is one based on good marketing. People are buying more organic foods than ever and Wal-Mart is hopping on the bandwagon. And you will reap the benefits.
Numerous diseases have been linked to environmental toxins. Children are particularly susceptible to damage from toxic substances. Having organic foods easily available will reduce the toxins in children and adults, alike.

I've also found some compelling reasons to eat only organic chocolate – if you enjoy it from time to time. You won't want to miss this article.
Meanwhile, expect to see more organic products, both foods and non-food items like cleaning products and cosmetics, at stores near you. With a little luck, we may even see their prices go down.
